All the compositions are collaborative, except šuma, written for Ensemble Studio 6 by Richard Barrett in 2016. In their work together, Milana and Richard explore the sound space between acoustic and electronic instruments. Through electronic manipulations, they find common denominators, follow each other, imitate, face, and confront each other – creating new sound worlds through their common meta-instrument.
Incredible Bob visually manipulated their sound through reflections and refractions of light, creating visual illusions in which sound and light waves are refracted, reflected, and merged.
This unique duo, based in Serbia, are Milana Zarić on acoustic and electric harps and percussion and Richard Barrett on computer and keyboard. They have been performing together since 2013, having collaborated with numerous musicians, ensembles, and visual artists in North America, Australia, and throughout Europe. Together they lead and perform in the Studio 6 Ensemble.
Through this video performance, the artists continue their search for new ways of communication with audiences in 2020 - a year of imposed physical distances, limitations, and restricted concert activities.
