Musem of Jewish Heritage, Šabac (recording) October 8, 2020 YouTube premiere Milana Zarić, acoustic/electric harp, percussion, electronics Richard Barrett, electronics Incredible Bob, video animation Mirage, project by the Ensemble Studio 6 electroacoustic duet, was realised in collaboration with Belgrade based media artist Incredible Bob, and and filmed at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Šabac in September 2020. This project was part of Studio 6’s concert season, which was financially supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia.
Mirage was first broadcast on YouTube channel of Kolektiv Studio 6 in October 2020. All the compositions were collaborative, except šuma, written for Ensemble Studio 6 by Richard Barrett in 2016. In their work together, Milana and Richard explore the sound space between acoustic and electronic instruments. Through electronic manipulations, they find common denominators, follow each other, imitate, face, and confront each other – creating new sound worlds through their mutual meta-instrument. Incredible Bob visually manipulated their sound through reflections and refractions of light, creating visual illusions in which sound and light waves are refracted, reflected, and merged. Through this video performance, the artists continue their search for new ways of communication with audiences in 2020 - a year of imposed physical distances, limitations, and restricted concert activities. |
